If you are not getting an OTP in Airtel SIM, why are you not receiving OTP on Airtel? And how to solve this problem. If you are creating an account in any application but you are not receiving an OTP.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Then go to App Manager.

  • Then click on Messages Application.

  • Then click on Force Stop.

  • Then go to Storage.

  • Then you have to Clear Cache.

  • Then go to Permissions.

  • Then you have to Enable SMS permission.

  • If it is already enabled then disable it and then enable it.
  • Doing this will solve your problem.
  • But if Solve is not done, then the application of which you are creating an account may also have permission is Disable.
  • So Enable the SMS permission of the application in which you are creating an account. like WhatsApp.

  • Doing this will definitely solve your problem.
  • But if the OTP is still not received, then your SMS service may have stopped from the company.
  • So to solve this problem you have to call customer care at 198.
  • I tried the same solution and my problem was solved.
  • I felt that as I am having this problem, maybe you will have the same problem.

  3. I wasn't receiving OTPs and bank sms on my Vodafone and airtel sims on my Micromax phone from 8th March 2021. I could receive the OTP sms on other devices though, so the problem had to do with my micromax and/or messages app. I tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling messages app etc. on my Micromax but to no avail. Then I found out that from 8th March 2021 TRAI implemented the New Rules concerning Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC) that was announced in 2018 (https://www.dqindia.com/otp-not-coming-users-heres-reason/). So I deactivated DND (for bank communications) on myvodafone app and voila! After 24 hours I could receive all bank sms, OTPs etc. (no backdated sms though). Same can be done through airtel app/customer care as well for airtel sim. I had activated full DND since last 3 years but the problem of OTP and imp bank sms started from 8March2021 only. Just wanted to share my experience so as to help those going through the same issue. Thank you Abid Akay for providing this forum.

    1. The reason behind not receiving OTP or Bank SMS is your SIM card is not Recharged.
      So please Recharge your SIM then only you Receive OTP and Bank SMS.
