Step 1: Restart the PC
Now the first step is to restart your computer do not ignore this step this has worked for many players so it might work for you so just restart the computer and after the system, restart and launches the game.
Step 2: Uninstall Epic Games Launcher/Update Epic Games Launcher/Uninstall & Reinstall the latest version of Epic games launcher
Now the next step is to uninstall epic games launcher now this has worked for many users so it might work fFor you i don't know why this is working but this is working so type in control panel in windows search box and then click on control panel then click on uninstaller program now select epic games launcher then click on uninstall epic games online services uninstall now after the uninstallation restart your computer and then launch the game now for few users updating the epic games launcher has fixed the problem to update epic games launcher you simply have to close epic games launcher so if this is open close it and then restart epic games launcher so launch the epic games launcher once again and when it's launching if there is any pending update it will update it and then try to launch the game now in case if you don't want to uninstall epic games launcher in that case first of all you uninstall epic games launcher so just first of all uninstall epic games launcher now after the uninstall restart your computer make sure that you restart your computer and then you can go to google and then type in download epic games launcher in google search and then go to epic website and from here download the latest version of epic games launcher and then launch the game.
Step 3: Add the Game Launcher folder to this location -
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat\GameLauncher
Now the next step is to add the game launcher game launcher folder to this location so if i open file explorer so go to this pc open c drive then open users folder and then open your username folder and then open app data if you don't see appdata over here click on view on the top and then click on hidden items put a check on hidden items in windows 11 you will somewhere over here you will find the view tab click on it then select show and then put a check on hidden items then open app data then open the roaming folder now open easy anti-cheat if you don't have easy anti-cheat folder you can make a right click then click on create new and click on folder and name it as easy anti-cheat without any space and then open game launcher now if you don't have game launcher folder over here make a right click then again select new folder and name it as game launcher without any space and then go to this website i have this content under my game launcher folder so i have actually uploaded this content to my google drive so you can click on download and once the download is complete this will download the zip file go to the download location and now once you go to the download location make a right click on game launcher zip file and then click on extract and once the extract is done open this game launcher folder and then copy the content and then go to the same location that is c drive users your username app data roaming easy anti-cheat game launcher and then paste all the content over here so once you paste it then launch the game. the next step is this has worked for many players if you are facing easy anti-cheat errors.
Step 4: Laptop users with a dual graphics card- Run the game on the dedicated graphics card
Now the next step is to is for laptop users with the dual graphic card so make sure that you are running the game on a dedicated graphics card for this type in graphics settings in the windows search box then click on graphic settings now click on browse and go to the game installation folder so in c drive program files x86 then open the steam folder stream apps then open the comment then over here you will see the game folder in my it's in my case it's indeed right so open stream folder stream apps common or Elden Ring game folder and then select the game exe file then click on add in my case the game is already added once you add the game click on options select high performance then click on save and then launch the game.
Step 5: Desktop Users: Connect the display cable to the dedicated graphics card instead of the integrated card (motherboard slot)
Now next step is for desktop users to connect the display cable to the dedicated graphics card instead of the integrated if your computer has an integrated graphics card the motherboard has a slot for the integrated graphics card so if your display cable is connected to the integrated graphics card then you might face problem so in that case you can go ahead and connect the display cable to the dedicated graphics card that is Nvidia or AMD so there might be a separate slot connect your display cable or HDMI cable to the port and then check.
Step 6: Do a clean installation of the graphics driver
Now the next step is to do a clean installation of your graphics driver so if you have an Nvidia card go to the Nvidia website if you have an AMD card go to the AMD website I'm showing for Nvidia select your graphic card from the list and make sure that you select your graphic card and select the right operating system from here then click on start search now once you click on start search scroll down and the first one is the latest graphics driver click on get download and then click on download now and once the download is complete run the exe file then you will see this screen click on agree and continue then put a check on custom then click on next then put a check on the box which says perform a clean installation put a check over here first then click on next and after the clean installation restart your computer and then launch the game.
Step 7: Try launching the game using start_protected_game exe, launch the game as administrator from the game installation folder
Now the next step is to launch the game using this exe file so for this go to the game installation folder make a right click on the game select manage to browse local files it will straight away take you to the game installation folder open the game folder then here you can see start protected game exe file make a right click then click on run as administrator and launch the game if that does not work select Elden Ring dot exe file make a right click then select properties now go to the compatibility tab and then put a check on the box which says run this program as an administrator click on apply and then click on ok now launch the game from here so make a double click over here and launch the game from here.
Step 8: Launch the game with dx11 settings
-dx11
Now the next step is to launch the game with dx11 settings for this type in dx11 so go to stream make a right click on the game select properties here you can see the launch option under the launch option type in dash dx11 now launch the game.
Step 9: Unplug all the USB devices
Now the next step is to unplug all the usb devices so the usb devices which you are not using unplug all the external devices if you have logitech wheel connected joystick driver you can uninstall it and uninstall any additional joystick not the driver if you have any additional joystick connected to the computer disconnect it and then disconnect if you have razer gamepad connected to the computer we joy unplug multiple monitors so if you have multiple monitor connected try to launch the game on single monitor turn off razer synapsis and msi dragon software if this is open go ahead and close it if you have corsair software running close it if you have nahimic services and lightingservices.exe in task manager so make a right click on the task start menu then click on task manager now if you have this services lighting services dot exe or nahimic services running close it from the task manager select that software and then click on end task in my case it's not there remove under volt so if you have undervolted your gpu remove the underboard and then try to try launching the game now this has worked for many users so it might work for you try try these steps.
Step 10: Update your Windows- This is very important
Now the next step is to update your windows to the latest version this is very important go to the start menu then click on settings now click on update and security in the case of windows 10 if you have windows 11 click on windows update and then click on check for update and once all the updates are installed restart your computer so after the installation restart your computer and then let the update complete and then launch the game.
Step 11: Allow the game exe file to antivirus program/Windows Security
Now the next step is to allow the game exe file to antivirus program so if you have any third party antivirus install make sure that you allow the game exe file to your antivirus program now if you're using windows security go to the start menu then click on settings now click on update and security if you have windows 10 now if you have windows 11 here you will see privacy and security so click on privacy and security in windows 11 in windows 10 update and security then click on windows security and then click on virus and thread protection scroll down here you can see manage ransomware protection click on manage transfer protection and then click on allow an app through control folder access click on yes to allow now click on add an allowed app then click on browse all apps and now go to the game installation folder so open steam folders steam apps common Elden Ring game folder select the game exe file then click on open select both the exe file that is this start protected game exe and once the game is added over here launch the game.
Step 12: Disable Steam Overlay and close other overlay apps, close all the overclocking application
Now the next step is to disable the steam overlay now this has worked for many users so make right-click on the game select properties uncheck the box which enables the steam overlay while in-game if this is checked to uncheck this and then also uncheck steam cloud if this is checked uncheck it and then launch the game now if you have any other overlay application running so if you have discord running close discord make sure discord is closed now if you have GeForce experience running close GeForce experience these are overly application so close all the overlay application also close all the overclocking applications so if you have MSI afterburner running close MSI afterburner now if you have revert unit running close reward units so close all the overclocking application.
Step 13: Install Visual C++ Files
Now the next step is to install the visual c++ file now this has worked for many users click on this link it will take you to Microsoft website here you can see visual studio 2015 17 19 and 22. install both x86 and x64 versions so click on both the exe file that is x86 and x64 versions then run both the exe file once both are installed restart your computer and then launch the game.
Step 14: If you have Windows 10 N Edition: Install Media Feature Pack
Now the next step is to install the media feature pack if you have windows and edition if you have an edition of windows make sure that you install the media feature pack for this go to the start menu click on settings now click on apps then click on optional features you will find this option in windows 11 as well click on optional features and then click on add a feature in the search box type in windows 10 you will have in windows 11 you click on add a feature in windows 11 click on view feature and then type in media feature pack over here now once you type in media feature pack over here you will see media feature pack like this put a check on the box which says media feature packs and then click on install or next and then install it I have windows 10 home so I don't have it over here if you have any addition you will find media feature pack put a check and then install it restart your computer and then launch the game.
Step 15: Verify the game files
Now the next step is to verify the game file for this go to the stream make a right click on the game select properties go to the local files tab then click on verify the integrity of game files after the verification launch the game.
Step 16: Perform a Clean boot
Now the next step is to perform a clean boot for this type of system configuration in the windows set box and then click on system configuration now go to the services tab and then put a check on the box which says hide all Microsoft services make sure that you put a check over here first then click on disable all in my case it's grayed out in your case it will be highlighted so put a check over here first then click on disable all then click on apply ok you will see the restart option restart a computer and then launch the game.
Step 17: Run the game in windowed mode and lower down graphics settings
Now the next step is to run the game in window mode and lower down graphics settings now after you launch the game go to the system and then go to this display option over here and then from the full screen you can switch to window mode click on yes and then you can set the quality to medium or low so I will select medium you can even select low and then you can also lower down resolution so if you want you can lower down the resolution so, for now, I will select let me select this click on yes so try to lower down the resolution as well and then go to advanced settings and from here you can go ahead and lower down your graphics settings so if everything is set to high you can set it to medium or low and then check the performance.
Step 18: Uninstall and reinstall the game to a different drive.
Now the last step is to uninstall and reinstall the game to a different drive so make a right click on the game select manage then click on uninstall now after the uninstall go to the game installation folder delete the game folder then restart your computer after the system restart reinstall the game to a different drive so if you have another SSD or HDD try installing the game to a different drive and launch the game.
